You can also insert several candy items into our favor bags for Easter or for a Hawaiian themed event. Even if you don't have any events to prepare for we have several fanciful and playful items that you can use at home. Cleanse your body with the oatmeal pear soaps or the mini heart soaps. Bring out these unique mini green leaf candles for a romantic dinner.

Create your own collection of gifts with all of your do it yourself gift items for whatever the occasion may be.

DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes

DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes is the parts department for wedding and party favors: empty favor boxes, bags, tin pails, terra cotta pots, ribbon, tags, potpourri, soaps, candles and small table pieces that you fill and assemble yourself. It suits couples and hosts who want the favor to match a specific theme or color, who are filling it with their own candy, seeds or a handwritten note, or who are making a large number of favors on a set budget. Most pieces here are sold plain and in sets rather than personalized, so you control the contents, the wrapping and the finish.

What you will find in DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes

  • Favor boxes the Clear Favor Boxes, the White Glossy Favor Boxes (Set of 12), the Ivory Cake Favor Boxes (Set of 12), the Clear Chinese Takeout Boxes (Set of 12), the Clear Asian Takeout Box with Ribbon, the Antique White Finished Wooden Royalty Box and the Message in a Bottle Mailing Boxes (Set of 12), for candy, cake slices and anything you pack yourself.
  • Bags, pails and pots the Mini Bride/Groom Favor Bags (Set of 12), the Miniature Metal Tin Pail Party Favors and the Mini Terra Cotta Pot, for seeds and bulbs at a garden wedding, candy at a shower, or a small plant on each place setting.
  • Tags and ribbon the Personalized Wooden Gift Tag, the Mini Wooden Black Chalkboard Tag and a 25-yard roll of ribbon, the pieces that tie a box shut and put a name, a table number or a thank-you on the outside.
  • Fillers that finish a favor the Tie The Knot Wedding Potpourri and the Blue Tide Pools Beach Potpourri, both sold as one pound of potpourri, plus the Mini Heart Soaps (Set of 6) and the Mini Green Leaf Candles (Set of 6), for filling bags, pots and boxes.
  • Table scatter and toss favors the Wedding Rings (Set of 144), the Lady Bugs (Set of 12), the Wedding Bells (Silver Only, Set of 24) and the Wedding Bubbles Favors, for scattering down the center of a table or handing out for the send-off.
  • Small keepsakes and holders the Wooden Starfish Beach Photo Frames (Set of 8), the Setting Sailboat Picture Frame, the White Japanese Sake Cups (Set of 12), the Porcelain Fortune Cookie Chopstick Rest and the Metal Painted Love Birds Birdcage Favor, sold as the piece on its own so you decide what goes with it.
  • Display for the favor table the Metallic Cupcake Display Tower Stand, for stacking finished favors, cupcakes or boxed treats where guests collect them.

How to choose

There are 55 pieces in DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes. Work backwards from the finished favor: pick the container first, then what goes inside, then what closes it.

Start with a containerChoose a favor box, takeout box, tin pail, terra cotta pot or favor bag. Clear boxes show off what is inside; glossy, ivory and wooden boxes hide it until it is opened.
Add a fillerChoose potpourri by the pound for bags and pots, mini soaps or mini candles when you want a finished item inside, or leave it empty for your own candy, seeds or a note.
Close it with ribbon and a tagChoose the ribbon roll with a wooden gift tag or a chalkboard tag when the favor also has to name the guest, the table or the date.
Add scatter or a send-off itemChoose wedding rings, lady bugs, bells or bubbles when the table needs decoration, or when guests need something in hand for the ceremony exit.
Set up the favor tableChoose the cupcake display tower and the small photo frames and sake cups when the favors are collected from a table rather than set at each place.

Ordering DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes for weddings and events

DIY favors are usually bought by the guest count, and most pieces in this category come in fixed sets such as 6, 8, 12, 24 or 144, so count your guest list and round up to the next full set. There is no minimum order. Assembly time is the part people underestimate, so order everything at once and build a test favor first. For different names on personalized wooden gift tags, email your list to [email protected] after ordering so it can be matched to your order. Logos for a company event are by custom order: send a vector file or high-resolution image to [email protected], and a setup fee applies. Order 3–6 months ahead for a wedding. Standard production is 5–10 business days, rush 3–5, expedite 1–3, plus 2–5 days US shipping. For bulk pricing, please contact [email protected].

Questions shoppers ask about DIY Favors + Assorted Keepsakes

What are DIY wedding favors?

They are the separate parts of a favor — an empty box, bag, pail or pot, something to put inside it, and ribbon and a tag to close it — that you assemble yourself instead of buying a finished favor. This category holds 40 such pieces, including favor boxes, takeout boxes, tin pails, terra cotta pots, potpourri, mini soaps, candles, bells, bubbles and small frames.

Are these DIY favors personalized?

Most are sold plain so you can theme them yourself. The Personalized Wooden Gift Tag is the piece designed to carry your text, and it is personalized in-house by HansonEllis. Items labelled Rest Only, Birdcage Only, Sailboat Only or Potpourri Only are the component on its own, with nothing added.

Do the items come in sets or individually?

Many come in fixed sets — 6 mini soaps, 8 starfish photo frames, 12 favor bags or takeout boxes, 24 wedding bells, 144 wedding rings — and the potpourri is sold by the pound. Check the set size on the product page and multiply up to your guest count.

How many DIY favors should I make?

One per guest is the usual rule, plus a few spares for last-minute guests and for photographs. Because most pieces come in sets, round up to the next full set rather than ordering the exact headcount.

What should I put inside a DIY favor box or bag?

Common fillers from this category are potpourri, mini heart soaps and mini green leaf candles. Couples also add their own candy, seeds or bulbs for the terra cotta pots and tin pails, or a handwritten note.

Is there a minimum order?

No. There is no minimum order, so you can buy a single set to test a design before you order the rest.

How long will my DIY favor supplies take to arrive?

Standard production is 5–10 business days, plus 2–5 days shipping in the US. Rush production is 3–5 days and expedite is 1–3 days. Order 3–6 months ahead of a wedding, since you still need time to assemble everything after the boxes arrive.

Can I put different names on the tags?

Yes. Order the full quantity of the personalized wooden gift tag, then email your list of names to [email protected] after ordering so it can be matched to your order. This is how DIY favors double as place cards.

Can I return DIY favor supplies I did not use?

Non-personalized items, which is most of this category, can be returned within 14 days. Personalized pieces such as an engraved gift tag are made to order and are final sale unless defective. Orders ship insured by UPS, FedEx or USPS with tracking emailed to you.

Do you ship DIY favor supplies internationally?

International shipping is by request. The cart calculates US shipping only and international orders cannot be rushed, so email [email protected] for a quote and allow extra time, especially for a destination wedding you are assembling on arrival.
