17" Wooden Travel Tournament Folding Chessboard Game with Wood Finished Chess Pieces*
Take your game to the next level with this wooden folding chessboard. The 17" Wooden Travel Tournament Folding Chessboard Game with Wood Finished Chess Pieces is a full 17.5 inch tournament board that quickly folds in half for easy bag storage, so the board that lives on the coffee table is the same board that goes in the car, the suitcase or the back of a camper. This board game is a convenient way to take your game with you when traveling.
Keep all your wooden chess pieces inside the board so it doesn't get lost. That single detail is why this set survives years of travel while other sets end up with a missing bishop and a rook doing its job. Fold the board, the pieces stay where they belong, and the whole game lifts out of a bag ready to play in the time it takes to pour a drink. Impress your family and friends by showing your chess skills with this beautifully designed chessboard, with the warm grain of the wood squares and wood finished pieces that feel like something rather than nothing in the hand.
Get one side or both sides of the chessboard engraved with the competitor's name or favorite short slogan. That is what turns a game into a gift. Two names facing each other across the board makes the match feel like a rivalry that has been going on for years, which, between a father and a son or two old friends, it probably has. A name, a wedding date, a team, a short line of trash talk, all of it holds up to 48 characters on a line, engraved in-house by HansonEllis, personalizing gifts since 1999.
Groomsmen, fathers, graduates, retiring colleagues and the friend who beats you every single time all understand a board with their name on it. Add your engraving text above, choose your quantity, and give a game that gets carried, unfolded and played for years.

Which one should I choose
Chess gifts usually divide into the board you play on at home, the one you travel with, and the keepsake that never gets used.
| 17" Wooden Travel Tournament Folding Chessboard Game | Choose it when you want a full 17.5 inch tournament surface that still folds in half and carries its own pieces, with a name engraved on one or both sides. |
|---|---|
| A pocket size magnetic travel set | Choose that for a plane tray or a backpack, when a small board matters more than playing at a proper tournament size. |
| A plain unengraved chess set | Choose that when it is a game for the house rather than a gift; nothing marks whose board it is. |
| An engraved plaque or keepsake box | Choose that when the gift is meant to be displayed; this chessboard is meant to be opened and played. |
If the gift should be used rather than admired, a 17.5 inch folding board with both players' names engraved on it wins the argument.
