Heart for Haiti
Hand/Eye fund works in Haiti to help artisans recover from the life-challenging loss of shelter, equipment, workshops and income that resulted from the 2010 Earthquake. Although the stone carvers of Cormier, Haiti, now have reconstructed homes, they still lack electricity, running water, and indoor kitchens. Grant money funded by a portion of the sale of these stone hearts will be used by the artisans to make improvements to their homes. Artisans in Haiti embody their country's rich cultural heritage, employ their neighbors, solve community problems with their entrepreneurial skills, and create opportunities for themselves and others.
