How to Save Big Bucks by Making Your Own Wedding Invitations

If you are on a tight budget for your wedding, you can save money by taking the time to make your own wedding invitations. With so many different programs both online and on CDs today there is little reason for the average bride-to-be to have to spend money paying a printer for wedding invitations. Of course you have to weigh the cost of card stock and printer ink against what you would pay a printer to do the same job but if you are planning a small affair it is more likely than not you will pay less if you make your own wedding invitations.

No minimum Orders

One of the biggest advantages to making your own do-it-yourself wedding invitations is your ability to print only the number of invitations you need. Most places require an order of at least 100 for the best pricing if they will even print less. When you make your own wedding invitations, there is no one telling you how many invitations you need to order. If you are having a very intimate affair and only plan to have 25 people, you have the ability to print 25 invitations. Of course, if you are having a large affair it will probably be more financially sound to order from a printer and save the cost of card stock and ink cartridges.

You Still Have a Good Selection of Homemade Wedding Invitation Designs

Do not think because you make your own wedding invitations, you will be subject to a minimal selection of designs. Although you do have the options to purchase, a program to load onto your computer there are also many websites that have deigns you can personalize and print from your home computer. The only thing you will miss if you make your own wedding invitations is the ability to produce raised lettering, embossed lettering or a variety of colors such as gold and silver. You also may not be able to do the colored borders a printer can do but for the basic wedding invitation, you have an abundance of choices.
