Don’t overlook the special little touches when planning your wedding. The role of candy, chocolates, and mints – is often forgotten in the haste of planning this special event… and it shouldn’t be. Gone are the days when your only choices were chocolates covered mints and pastel almonds. Today’s brides have much more to choose from when it comes to confections.
Chocolates and candies can be used in a variety of creative ways to sweeten your wedding reception. When arranged with your flowers and wrapped in foils and nettings of your wedding colors, chocolates are not only delicious but festive and decorative additions as well. Chocolate flowers or hearts can be beautifully arranged as table centerpieces.
Following your reception, you may invite your guests to take home a piece of the centerpiece, thanking each guest for spending the most important day of your life with you. White or dark chocolate name plates, or mints, engraved with your initials, arranged at each place setting add a special touch to a sit down dinner reception.
Another nice idea is to include chocolates in gift baskets to send to friends or relatives visiting from out of town. Talk to your local confectionery about putting together an assortment of fruits, nuts and candy to send to the hotel where your guests will be staying. Don’t overlook the role of confections when planning wedding showers. Giving each guest a delicately wrapped chocolate heart or wedding bell lets each guest know how special she is. They also make a wonderful thank you gift for your hostess or bridesmaids who spent their time planning the shower.
Be sure to visit your local confectionery well in advance of your wedding date. This will allow them to customize your confections into all aspects of your wedding.
